Al Gore in Bookie Bust

An Irish bookmaker who offered 14-to-1 odds that Al Gore would be the next high-profile American to be arrested paid out on Friday after police detained the former vice president's son, also named Al.

Al Gore III appears with his parents, Al and Tipper Gore.

Having not specified which Al bettors could back, Paddy Power said some of the 50 or so people who placed money on the rank outsider being arrested had been quick to claim their winnings. "We got a good stoning thanks to the vice president's son," the company said in a statement. The "bizarre coincidence" would cost it more than $13,600.

First Star for OZZIE!

Rock legend Ozzy Osbourne returned to his home city on Friday to accept the first place in a new Hollywood-style "Walk of Stars". The so-called Prince of Darkness was greeted by around 1,500 fans who had braved intermittent rain for up to four hours while waiting in Birmingham's Centenary Square.
Using typically earthy language, Osbourne told the crowd his star on the Second City's streets meant far more to him than his spot on the pavement on the Walk of Fame in Los Angeles.
Addressing his fans from a stage set up in the square before unveiling the star, the 58-year-old said: "This means more to than any f****** Hollywood thing."
"I am really honoured," the Aston-born singer then told reporters. "All my family is here and I thank everyone for this reception - I'm absolutely knocked out."

Prince WIliam back with KATE!

Prince William has persuaded his former girlfriend Kate Middleton to rekindle their relationship 12 weeks after they split up, a British newspaper reported Friday. The report in The Sun citing an unidentified royal source came five days after Middleton attended a concert celebrating the life of William's mother, Princess Diana, further fueling rumors that the two have reconciled.
William's Clarence House office has declined to comment on media reports that the two are back together.
William, second in line to the throne, broke up with Middleton in April as speculation swirled that the two were about to marry.
Middleton had been pursued by photographers outside her London home and nightclubs in scenes that drew comparisons to the coverage of Diana.
