Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi have been toppled as the world’s highest paid players in the world.

According to documents leaked by whistleblowers ‘Football Leaks’, the best-paid player in the world reportedly earns more than £100,000-a-week more than Cristiano Ronaldo and nearly twice that of the multiple Ballon d’Or winner

The best-paid footballer on the planet is also an Argentinian forward… Ezequiel Lavezzi – Messi’s international team-mate.

It is reported that Lavezzi is paid nearly twice as much per week as the five-time Ballon d’Or winner.

Early this year, Lavezzi joined Chinese club Hebei China Fortune from Paris Saint-Germain in a deal reported to be worth £400,000 a week however leaked contract details reveals that he is paid a weekly salary of £493,000.

By contrast, Messi is still yet to sign a new contract and he is believed to earn around £270,000-a -week – some £223,000 less than 31-year-old Lavezzi.

Messi’s rival, Real Madrid’s Cristiano Ronaldo, signed a new five-year deal last month, at a reported £365,000 per week, while his team-mate Gareth Bale has also committed his future to the La Liga leaders and his weekly wage is said to be more than £350,000 after tax.

Bobby Shmurda’s Prison Sentence May Be Reduced

Bobby Shmurda could see less prison time if he accepts plea deal

It looks lik Bobby Shmurda could be getting out soon… much sooner than we expected. In a report earlier this week, the GS9 rapper, real name Ackquille Jean Pollard, is said to hav appeared in court for his alleged attempt in sneaking a shank into Rikers Island. He could still very well face up to 7 years on a murder conspiracy charge, but New York prosecutors have offered Schmurda and his lawyers a plea deal that will significantly reduce his prison time.

According to TMZ, Bobby’s attorney, Alex Spiro, is urging him to plead guilty to “attempted promoting prison contraband.” If he accepts, Shmurda will get one to four years in prison, which will run concurrently.

No one knows if Shmurda will take the plea deal, but he’s got to make that decision before his January 7th hearing. TMZ reports that fans & friends are pushing to take the deal, which would probably be the smartest thing to do. What do you think Bobby should do?

Suarez Set to Sign New Six-Year Barcelona Contract

The striker will follow Neymar in committing to the club, with confirmation of the deal potentially coming before the end of 2016.

Luis Suarez will become the next Barcelona star to sign a new contract, according to president Josep Bartomeu.

The Uruguayan’s six-year deal comes less than two months after his forward partner Neymar commited to the club until 2021, and it could be confirmed before the end of 2016.

Javier Mascherano and Ivan Rakitic have also recently penned fresh terms, with Lionel Messi expected to follow suit.

“Suarez is going to renew [his contract] now. It’s already done,” Bartomeu told Radio Vision. “There are only a few small details outstanding. In the coming days or weeks we will announce it.

“Maybe, why not, as a big Christmas present. Not for Luis, who already knows that he is going to continue here, but for football fans.

“For them he is a very important character who forms part of this spectacular front three that we have at the club.”

Suarez, who arrived from Liverpool in a deal worth around £65 million two years ago, turns 30 in January and Bartomeu hopes to the player sees out his career at Camp Nou.

“We want [his contract] to be even longer, but for the moment he will sign until 2022. You have to adapt to the rules, which have a maximum contract length.

“We want Luis Suarez to be at this club for many years. And when he retires he will always be welcome at Barcelona."
