UBA Country Focus is spotlighting the Republic Of Benin Pictured here is the village of Ganvie, a lacustrine village, where the slots are constructed on pillars of about ten meters from the surface of the lagoon. Ganvié has a population of 15,000 inhabitants that have well-organized and maintained structures on the water.
The lacustrine village of Ganvié presents architecture of a particular look with restaurants and bars, bungalows, coffee bars and even some hotels in a very singular and outstanding space. All life takes place entirely on water, canoes filled with various foods cross the village in order to allow the inhabitants move freely.
