Beyonce Cancels Nashville Stop of Formation World Tour

Beyonce pulled the plug on the upcoming Thursday, May 5, leg of her Formation World Tour in Nashville, Tennessee, though no other tour dates have been affected
Beyonce pulled the plug on the upcoming Nashville, Tennessee, stop of her Formation World Tour, and her fans are disappointed, to say the least.

The news, which TMZ reported on Friday, April 29, comes just days after the superstar songstress, 34, kicked off her tour in Miami on Wednesday, April 27, and less than a week after she dropped surprise album Lemonade following her April 23 HBO special.

The Five Fiercest Moments from Beyonce’s Formation Tour

“Following Wednesday’s sold out opening night Formation World Tour concert in Miami, promoters Live Nation announced that the Nashville concert previously scheduled for Thursday, May 5th will be rescheduled,” a rep for Live Nation tells Us Weekly in a statement. “Details about the rescheduled date will be announced shortly and Nashville tickets holders are advised to retain their tickets which will be honored at the rescheduled event. … Live Nation apologizes for any inconvenience.”
An unofficial Twitter account chronicling the World Tour tweeted that the main reason for the cancelation was due to “stadium construction.”

The May 5 Nashville show was set to take place at Nissan Stadium, where the Tennessee Titans regularly play.
The Twitter account for the stadium responded to the suggestion that it wasn’t ready to host the mega-event, tweeting, “Nissan Stadium was ready and able to host the May 5 BeyoncĂ© show, and we look forward to the rescheduled event.”

No new dates for the rescheduled show have been announced, and according to TMZ, no other concert dates will be affected by the last-minute change.

Beyonce has already been making plenty of headlines in the few days since her tour first began.

Queen Bey played Prince’s 1984 smash “Purple Rain” during her first show in tribute to the late music legend, and dedicated her powerful performance of “Halo” to her family.

“I want to dedicate this song to my family, thank you guys for supporting me,” she said to Jay Z, who was watching her from the audience. “I want to dedicate this song to my beautiful husband, I love you so much.
