Can you believe this, Paris Hilton's lawyer, Richard Hutton, along with the prosecutor Dan Jeffries, have both arrived to court for the hearing. Jeffries tells TMZ that he was never told that Paris would be appearing in court by phone, despite the information released by a court official. He also tells us that he was never consulted about the Sheriff's decision to reassign Hilton to house arrest -- until after Paris had been released.
The judge actually being FAIR ordered Paris to come in and testify in person. Okay anyone who actually believes she thinks she is not special is out of their mind. Paris gets more and more ridiculous. We can only hope they haul her sorry ASS back to jail where she belongs......
LONDON, England (AP) -- A British judge on Friday sentenced pop singer George Michael to 100 hours of community service and banned him from driving for two years for driving under the influence of drugs. Michael, real name George Panayiotou, had pleaded guilty on May 8 to a charge of driving while unfit through drugs, which carries a maximum penalty of six months in prison. Police said Michael was found slumped at the wheel of his car in north London after witnesses observed the vehicle weaving onto the wrong side of the road at around 5-10 miles an hour (8-16 kph) in the early hours of the morning. Michael, appearing in Brent Magistrates Court, said he was ashamed that "I had done something really wrong in putting other people at risk."
Bon Jovi guitarist Richie Sambora entered an undisclosed treatment facility on Wednesday, a rep for the band tells PEOPLE exclusively. "Richie Sambora has entered an undisclosed treatment facility in Los Angeles," the rep said in a statement. "He asks that you respect he and his family's privacy at this time." The specific nature of Sambora's problem was not disclosed. It has been a difficult year for Sambora, 47. He and actress Denise Richards broke up several months ago after dating for about a year. In April, his divorce from Heather Locklear was finalized. And that same month, his father died of lung cancer. (Richards accompanied Sambora to the funeral as a show of support, though they had ended their relationship by that point.)
The loud chorus of questions and accusations surrounding Hilton's early release from jail got a whole lot louder, but the Sheriff continued to play the medical card to defend his decision. Local officials continued to shake their heads at the heiress' treatment, with LA County Supervisor Mike Antonovich calling her release, says the New York Post, "a mockery of due process." He added, "You're dealing with a spoiled brat who is having a tantrum to get wants she wants instead of serving her sentence as was adjudicated by the courts." Now I like the sound of that, finally the truth! .But the Sheriff under fire for letting Hilton go home leant on the medical rationale, telling the L.A. Times, "justice is being served by the decision ... She would still be in the county jail if it were not for the medical advice." And as for her receiving star treatment, Baca said, "My message to those who don't like celebrities is that punishing celebrities more than the average American is not justice."
And Rosie O'Donnell – remember her? – weighed in on the releasing of Hilton in her own mocking style on her blog at rosie.com, "Hilton is free/praise the lord/as America awakens/from a deep sleep."
