Did family money buy Paris Hilton "A GET OUR OF JAIL FREE CARD"?

Did family money buy Paris Hilton a temporary get-out-of-jail card?
Sheriff Lee Baca, the Los Angeles law-enforcement official who ordered Hilton released from jail after serving only three days in her 45-day sentence, accepted a $1,000 campaign donation last year from William Barron Hilton—Paris's grandfather. That contribution constituted the maximum amount allowable under California campaign rules.
Baca has come under heavy fire for deciding to let Hilton serve out the remainder of her sentence at home, in apparent defiance of the orders given by the judge who sentenced her last month. Baca has said that Hilton was suffering from a "medical condition," an explanation that has not fared well under scrutiny.

In office since 1998, Baca has cultivated close ties to the Hollywood community. Others who donated money to his campaign last year included Rupert Murdoch, Les Moonves, Ron Meyer, Brad Grey, Steven Segal, and Burt Bacharach. He was assailed last year over a claim by the Sheriff's Department that Mel Gibson had been arrested without incident, when the star had actually spewed anti-Semitic statements after getting pulled over for drunk driving. It soon emerged that Gibson had taped a public service announcement for Baca's relief committee.
Baca has not yet responded to a request for comment.

Sheriff Baca: "This Lady Has Severe Problems"

Lee Baca Sheriff claims there was simply no room at his jail for a "low-level offender" like Paris Hilton -- and her "severe" medical problems were only getting worse. In a statement to the press, Baca said, "There's 20,000 inmates -- the largest jail system in the United States ... It's very overcrowded."According to Baca, 90% of the inmates in L.A. County jail are serious felons -- many held on murder charges or attempted murder charges. Paris was one of the "low level" offenders -- who usually serve 10% of their sentences. Baca also said that he reassigned Hilton based on "her severe medical problems," and confirmed TMZ's original story that her condition was mental. Baca said that her "increasingly deteriorating problems" were evaluated and added, "This lady has some severe problems." Baca added that she was medicated when she originally entered the jail system ... and "I can't trust her tenuous status," referring to her mental state. "She had a severe problem," said Baca, "I need more cooperation from the courts and from the city attorney's office."For now, Baca says he will comply with the court order and keep her behind bars -- "If there's any further deterioration, hopefully we'll be able to address it."

I don't know about you but this sounds like someone trying to justify his poor decision which may get him into trouble. If I were him I would not PISS the judge off anymore! Give us a break all reports say Paris (poor girl) was planning a big party tonight!

Lindsay Lohan: "No one's perfect; I'm human"

Lindsay Lohan doesn't think she's perfect. "The thing is, people do things and mess up," she says in the new issue of Los Angeles Confidential magazine, hitting stands next Friday. "No one's perfect. I'm human." How true that is. About two weeks after the interview took place, the 20-year-old starlet checked herself into rehab after a nasty weekend featuring some very public displays of partying.Lohan admitted that Hollywood isn't always so kind to her. "The real hard thing about L.A. is that it's all about one thing," she says. "Everyone always wants something. This industry is very lonely; I tend to get very lonely." She may have used that sadness while shooting I Know Who Killed Me, her upcoming thriller in which she plays a stripper abducted by a serial killer. "I do a lot of crying in scenes," Lohan says. "At one point, [my character] takes a bunch of pills. I didn't know how to approach the challenge, so I just dove in." And yes, she does do some stripping in the movie. "Leading up to it, I was a little shaky, but I had some friends on set and in the end I wasn't nervous," Lohan remembers. "Once I was in costume and really 'in it,' the scene went great. It doesn't come across as cheesy or gross, like, Oh, she just wanted to take her clothes off."
