Currently, 55% of Nigerians lack access to electricity and those that have access suffer from frequent power outages.
To alleviate this energy deficit, Nigeria has approximately 100 million diesel generators in operation which produce a lot of air pollution. To help address Nigeria’s energy needs, Power Africa, a U.S government initiative, is partnering with Lumos, a solar power provider, to offer affordable and environmentally-friendly off the grid solutions. Since 2015, Lumos has added 30,000 new solar connections in Nigeria.
